Miles of white sand and shoreline are yours – from the pristine white house at the end of the residential road. Adjoining the owners’ is your sanctuary, with a wood-burner in the bedroom for cosy nights in and logs on the house. Awe-inspiring to be so close to wind and sea, as dramatic views encircle your chunky driftwood bed – one of owner Mark’s beautiful creations. After showering in a sparkling bathroom – polished chrome, limed floorboards – drift onto the balcony and the lull of the sea. Or indulge in a spot of pampering: book a massage or reiki session from a local therapist. The beach is an extension of the living room, an outdoors trunk spills wetsuits, spades and games, and there’s a barbecue for gusty grills. Floorboards are stripped, rooms are sprinkled with wrought-iron candlesticks, portholes and shells, TVs live in bedrooms (the double up, the single down), and the neutral palette does not compete with the views – thrilling all-weather vistas you just can’t escape. Bleached doors lead to a fresh little kitchen and if you’re feeling lazy there’s a restaurant a few minutes’ walk. You could even catch the ferry to France.
