The Mill

We stayed 3 nights in March 2024. Superb B&B. Excellent attention to detail, local produce for breakfast and an extensive morning menu. Our room was spacious and very well appointed. The owner has a wealth of knowledge regarding the local area, we were impressed with the history of The Mill, and the local area of Long Melford. Bravo!

My wife and I have just enjoyed a two night autumn and winter mini-break at The Mill. The rooms were as new and immaculately clean. Paul offered a warm and friendly welcome and a fab breakfast on both mornings. We stayed in The Garden room with a pretty log burner, and we had fresh milk, flowers and chocolates in the room. We would recommend.

This has to be one of the best B&Bs in the country. Not only have you got total privacy being separate from the main house but one of the rooms even has its' own garden. The road noise at rush hour can only be heard outside in the garden. Inside you can hardly hear a thing thanks to the triple glazing. Not only is Paul a very convivial host but he cooks the most amazing breakfast and lots of it. Another bonus is the location in Long Melford, you can walk to any one of six eateries ranging from cheap to gourmet food and you don't have to toss a coin to see who is going to drive! A great stay.

Absolutely outstanding two nights stay at this true gem of a renovation ❤️. Location, hospitality, comfort, decor, attention to detail, Paul’s breakfasts.......... all truly perfect! Made our time in Suffolk sublime. Cannot recommend highly enough. Stayed in The Melford room with the divine bathtub and views of Melford Hall and next time, we’ll be trying the garden room, which looked truly amazing too. Thanks Paul and Clare, we’ll be back for sure.

Very warm welcome with practical and full explanations and suggestions. Paul and Clare are paying a lot of attention to detail. Room with ensuite bathroom has been modernised to a high spec with walk-in shower and special features such as illuminated wash basin and shower niche's with fade possibility. Although on a busy road the room had been virtually 100% soundproofed and had access to a very nice little walled garden which traps the sun in the morning and should be very pleasant in summer. Off-road parking, excellent breakfast and overall very enjoyable stay.

Wow! Just the most fabulous place to stay - so much care and attention to detail have gone into making this a truly memorable experience. Everything has been thought of; mood lighting over the brass bath, gorgeous toiletries, a log burner in one of the rooms; your own garden or patio and of course a wonderful breakfast every morning with eggs from the resident chickens. Lovely.
