The pretty village has hanging baskets decorating shops and riverside, and Tim and Caroline’s house was built in the arboretum of Oswald Mosley’s former family seat. Comfy sitting rooms have heaps of books, art, a log fire; bedrooms (one in the studio) have tip-top linen, garden views and shortbread. Wake for a generous Aga breakfast: homemade granola, Tim’s bread, local bacon – or continental with croissants. You’re on the edge of the Peak District National Park – head out for walks, cycling, National Trust houses galore. Return to the stunning garden for afternoon tea and cake: unusual trees, Italianate pond, sunny spots…

Caroline & Tim made our family party of 6 extremely welcome. We very much appreciated the quiet location, lovely garden, comfortable bedrooms, excellent breakfast and attention to detail everywhere. We were delighted to be able to celebrate a significant birthday together in such a special place.

Tranquil location with plenty to see and do not far away. Lovely welcome from friendly hosts, beautiful home, immaculate decor, comfortable and spacious rooms, scrumptious breakfasts. Recommended without hesitation by Ian & Marie.

We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful home. Very relaxing, comfortable beds, spacious bedrooms which are well equipped and fabulous breakfast in the morning.

What can I say about this lovely B&B except that it is one of the best that my husband and I have ever stayed in. Beautifully appointed from the decor to the bedlinen and such warm and friendly hosts and set in lovely, quiet and peaceful grounds. The breakfast was a real treat with the added bonus of Tim's home-made bread! Definitely 5 star! Andrew and Carolyn

Caroline and Tim are charming and excellent hosts. The house is beautiful and immaculate and the rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast was first class. The local pub, The Ginni, serves surprisingly good food. We really enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend this B&B to others.

Rupert, London

We only stayed one night and wished it had been longer. The hospitality shown to us by Caroline and Tim along with the pleasure of staying in their beautiful home and the delicious breakfast prepared made our stay perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and Caroline kindly suggested and booked us a restaurant for dinner. Would not hesitate to recommend a visit.
