The
Experience

Head down the lane to this Exmoor farmhouse snoozing in the Exe valley. It’s a home with a heart – Jackie and Michael have created a friendly, relaxed vibe and are past masters at restoring houses. Find window seats in every room, pots of flowers, beautiful fabrics and art. The sitting room is snug with comfy chairs by the wood-burner; bedrooms and bathrooms are inviting: good white linen, big towels, robes and views over the garden and hills. Tuck into an Aga breakfast round the polished table in the beamed dining room, simple suppers too. Characterful ponies add to the happy feel, there’s a suntrap terrace and you can walk from the door onto Exmoor.

Simply outstanding! We had a wonderful weekend staying at this beautiful B&B. Jackie was a fantastic host and couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Not only did she cook us delicious breakfasts but she also made dinner reservations for us and helped plan our visit with plenty of suggestions of walks, places to visit and lunch spots. We had a very relaxing stay and would go back in a heartbeat. Exmoor National Park is beautiful with stunning scenery and plenty of great walks.

I am long overdue in writing this review, but the wonderful memories of our stay with Jackie and Michael linger in our minds. After a 4-week road trip, we headed for a much needed respite at Witheridge Farm. Our stay there exceeded absolutely everything we hoped it would be. The B&B is warm, welcoming and beautifully appointed, with idyllic views out to the garden and hills beyond. Jackie was absolutely brilliant, the perfect blend of friendly, engaging and helpful, but respectful of our desire to rest and relax. Wonderful, gracious hosts, in an outstanding part of the world! A+

Witheridge is a lovely old house, refurbished yet retaining it's character. Hosts Michael & Jackie could not have been more welcoming or helpful. Our room was large warm and comfortable, the bath/shower room supplied with all necessaries. The guest's sitting room too was delightful and the wood-burning stove a cheerful sight on returning from a walk on a cold afternoon, with the offer of tea and coffee. Breakfasts were substantial, cooked to perfection from excellent ingredients, the eggs bacon and sausage locally sourced. This has to be the best B&B we have stayed at. We will return!

This is a beautifully decorated, welcoming, luxurious place to stay. The bed was amazing; quite firm, comfortable and huge. The bathroom was also very luxurious, with a powerful shower and large tub; just what you need after a day's walking. Breakfast was very hearty, massive and great quality. We were looking for peace and quiet after a very stressful few months and Witheridge Farm was just what we were looing for. Jackie was a friendly and attentive host and we will visit again as soon as we can.

This is a FIVE STAR B&B ! Lovely house beautifully renovated. Very comfortable and spacious. Everything is done with welcoming generosity. A place to return to and to highly recommend to everyone.

This is THE PERFECT b&b. Jackie and Michael not only very helpful and hospitable hosts, but extremely knowledgeable about Exmoor . They kindly drove us to the start of a 10 mile linear walk, so that we could experience the best of moorland and riverside scenery - a glorious day's walking, with a distant stag hunt thrown in! The farmhouse is beautifully renovated and furnished, with great attention to detail. We would definitely choose here again and stay longer

If you plan to stay on Exmoor, Witheridge Farm is a must: apart from the rugged Exmoor surroundings, the exquisitely decorated house, spacious garden, and excellent food, there are Jacky and Michael, the hostess and host. Jacky’s thorough knowledge of Exmoor and Devon will help you decide where and how to spend your day, including, if you want to, where to have dinner and spend the evening. That is, if you decide not to spend the cold evening besides the woodstove in the special guests sitting room, sipping a cup of tea.
