Upper Buckton

Bed & Breakfast

Georgian elegance in the glorious Welsh Borders. Good food, lovely walks on the farm, interesting gardens with millstream and river beyond

3 rooms

Rooms sleep 2

This grand Georgian house, complete with heronry and point-to-point course, stands on a motte and bailey site. The Welsh Borders setting is beautiful and the gardens slope peacefully down to the millstream, meadows and river. Breakfasts are local and delicious, convivial dinners are preceded by drinks in the drawing room; Yvonne’s cooking is upmarket and creative, Hayden’s wine list is a treat. Retire to large bedrooms with huge beds made to perfection (proper blankets, lovely linen). Wander, admiring the roses and azaleas; join the Hereford Way from the farm; visit abundant castles and gardens. Ludlow is a ten-minute drive.

Just perfect - we couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome, or more thoughtful hosts. Yvonne and Hayden's farmhouse is delightful in every way.

Elizabeth, Northamptonshire

We have stayed in several Sawday reccommended Bed and Breakfast establishments in both Wales and England and have never been disappointed but Buckton Hall Farm was way beyond our expectations. From the moment we were greeted by Yvonne on our arrival we were quite simply over-awed by the kindness of our hosts, their professionalism and their attention to detail. The bedroom was beautifully furnished and our enormous bed was comfy to the extreme. We chose to take the evening meal option on both nights of our stay and cannot praise the standard of cooking or the dining experience enough.

Melody, Cardiff

We were greeted warmly by our charming hosts, Hayden & Yvonne Lloyd, and were immediately made to feel at home in their delightful farmhouse. It is beautifully decorated and the bedroom and attached bathroom are spacious and very well-appointed - pure luxury! The house overlooks wonderful green countryside with a meandering river, swans, sheep and hills in the distance - glorious. We joined Hayden and Yvonne for pre-dinner drinks before settling down to the culinary delights of Yvonne's kitchen. Out of this world! (Coffee cake delicious too.) Highest possible recommendation.
