Tudor Cottage

We had a lovely stay with our dogs. Bishop’s Castle is a surprisingly quirky and interesting town. The cottage is in a superb location at the top of the town, right in the heart of things. We happened to catch the end of the Arts festival with all the events and open studios. The cottage is really spacious and comfortable and we made good use of the wood burner. We went during the time of the storms but had some good days. We hope to come back again in warmer months to enjoy sitting outside on the patio with those views over to the hills.

Bishop's Castle is a lovely little historic town, and this was an ideal place to be based in it. The cottage is on a small road, but we found no problem in parking right outside. The house was beautifully decorated and furnished, and very warm and comfortable. Rachael was very helpful and prompt in responding to a couple of queries we had. On arrival we found she had left us some very useful basic supplies and a very nice fruit loaf. No hesitation in recommending.

Bishop's Castle is a little gem of a town, vibrant, artsy and surrounded by glorious countryside. Stay in this charmingly renovated cottage and be at the very heart of it all and yet still enjoy peace in the very pretty south-facing garden with views to the hills. A rare treasure.

Excellent, comfortable and stylish cottage with lovely views over the town and surrounding hills. We had a wonderful week alternating walks (some from the door using the local leaflets provided) with trips to Ludlow, Presteigne and Hay-on-Wye. Bishop's Castle is an understated delight - quality real ale in the two town breweries, book and antique shops, and a small deli as well as supermarkets. We hope to return!

Lovely cottage in an excellent location. We stayed in deepest winter but the cottage was well heated and there was a bonus of a log burner in the lounge. The cottage was very comfortable with a light and bright kitchen & dining room. We really appreciated the little extras from Rachael - like the delicious cake and apple juice. The cottage is well located in Bishops Castle with easy walking access to the pubs (and 2 breweries!) and shops. We used the cottage as a base to do some excellent walks on the Long Mynd and Stiperstones. Highly recommended overall.

Tudor Cottage is an excellent base for exploring Bishop's Castle - very comfortable, even in depths of winter, with a nice "sun room" area adjacent to the kitchen where we could sit and watch the snow fall! The cottage is well equipped and has good kitchen facilities. There is a very easy to use wood-burning stove should you visit in the winter. The location was ideal, at the top end of the town, with excellent pubs/restaurants within 2 minutes walk of the front door. Would recommend.
