The
Experience

Clare delights in making her home glow. Passionate about interior décor, she’s designed an immaculate house crammed with creative touches and Georgian elegance; inviting sitting and breakfast rooms have comfy sofas, a wood-burner and refectory tables. An experienced cook too, so expect good breakfasts and dinners: homemade treats, eggs from a friend’s hens, fish from the market. Soak in a slipper bath; sleep in a charming bedroom – both have armchairs, hand-painted antiques and pictures; church bells keep time. The historic town is rich in timbered buildings, monastic ruins, arty festivals and award-winning independent shops.

Perfection, we couldn’t fault this lovely B and B and we are very picky! Really beautiful room, extreley comfy bed with pristine white bed linen, huge bathroom with separate bath and shower. It’s in the centre of town but was really quiet. Clare is a fantastic cook and used home grown and locally sourced ingredients. Nothing was too much trouble, we felt like house guests not customers and will definitely recommend this one to all our friends

Oh my word, what a find!! We had a perfect weekend at No 5. An exquisitley decorated house full of history with beautiful spacious rooms where we instantly felt at home. Clare and Richard were very welcoming hosts, food was beautiful and served in a very atmospheric lounge come dining room. Clare clearly has a flair for interiors and her attention to detail is superb. The weekend for us was a trip down memory Lane and No5 was the ideal place to stay, looking out on the wonderful church and historic buildings of much wenlock & listening to the bells on Sunday morning. We'll definitely be back

This is an absolute gem.Beautifully restored house, charming host and in the middle of Wenlock with a choice of eateries.Yes! Hope to return.

An exquisite experience! We had the privilege to be welcomed at 5 Wilmore by our exceptional hosts Clare and Richard. From the doorstep you feel at home and enjoy the combination of a perfectly appointed accommodation and great atmosphere. The two rooms are just sumptuous well beyond the standard of many five-star hotels. On top, when it comes to the diner, Clare is simply a Chef! In a nutshell: an outstanding experience that definitely worth the voyage! Michelle, Peter, Thomas and Marie

We were dropping the kids at PGL near Shrewsbury and decided to stay the Saturday night at 5 Wilmore Street in Much Wenlock. From the moment we entered this was a 5* experience. Richard made us very welcome on arrival and brought up a pot of tea which we took in the comfy chairs in our bedroom (homemade shortbread too). We booked the front bedroom with the view of the church. It was stunning; large sash windows; beatiful furniture; fantastic en-suite. Clare's breakfast was to die for.....so we stayed a second night. Nothing was too much trouble for this lovely couple! What a find....

It is a lovely B&B: Clare and Richard are most welcoming, obliging and helpful. Our room was light, bright and spacious. The bathroom was spotless and, although we didn't request it, Clare changed the towels after two days. We will certainly return as there is much to see and plenty of walking in the area and a little further afield on the Long Mynd.

We loved every minute of our stay here in this hidden gem of a little medieval town with its beautiful priory. We were so well looked-after by Claire and loved our panelled bedroom with luxurious en-suite. We didn't order an evening mail, much to our regret as it looked delicious. But the breakfast was great and overall, Claire is a marvellous hostess who has thought of every little detail. We will definitely go back for a longer stay. There is clearly a great deal to see and do in the local area. We only had time to visit Much Wenlock, the Morville garden and Ludlow.

We enjoyed a fabulous stay at this beautiful B&B. Our hosts were very welcoming (especially as we arrived caked in mud from a very wet tandem ride!) - but nothing was too much trouble. Our room was supremely comfortable with every facility we could ask for. We requested dinner and it was nice to be able to wonder to the local pub before returning to a truly beautiful dinner. We even received a phone call during the day to ask us what fish we preferred from the fishmonger as they were out of the one we have selected! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Wonderful hosts! We will return.......

Charming place. The room was perfect in every way. The bed was most comfortable, and the food simply delicious. Clare is the most thoughtful and attentive hostess and made my stay a very pleasant one.

FAB U LOUS!! Exquisite room with amazing attention to detail not only to the eye but for the comfort of the guest. Clare & Richard have put considerable effort into creating a tranquil haven and you will be delighted to have visited their home and enjoyed their company, they are wonderful hosts and we have no doubt that we will return. Bed sumptuous and bathroom divine, reluctantly left the drench shower but a scrummy breakfast awaited. Ticked all of our boxes - thank you!!

Barbara, Nottingham

Very warm welcome from Clare and Richard into their beautiful home. Great attention to detail resulting in a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Thanks both.

What a find. Clare and Richard have allowed no detail to go unthought-of and their kindness shines through in their accommodation. The airy bedroom, with three sash windows, has an extremely comfortable and immaculately dressed bed. There are two armchairs to sink into, a gorgeous bathroom, and dreamy view of the ancient church. The milk for the tea tray is fresh, the cake homemade. At dinner, there's candlelight and flowers, silver and exquisite linen. Clare is a very good cook indeed and clearly takes enormous care, whether serving dinner or breakfast. You leave feeling thoroughly cosseted.

Stunning bedroom, immaculate bathroom. Exquisite food cooked by Clare. A five star stay in a beautiful part of the country. You must book this place.

Marie, Chester

A very special place to stay with two friendly hosts who couldn't have been more welcoming. Clare and Richard offered a beautiful home for us to share. A large immaculate bedroom, a delightful ensuite with slipper bath to relax in and delicious breakfast each morning. Definitely somewhere to recommend to friends together with interesting Much Wenlock to explore.

Susan, York

This is a tastefully glamorous place to stay; the decor is immaculate, and Clare and Richard really made me feel thoroughly spoilt. Clare's cooking was exquisite, and could not be faulted. A great place to explore the delightful Much Wenlock and its surrounds.

Louise, Rugeley

Superlatives are in order-what a very special place! Claire and Richard were so warm and welcoming, the decor is a delight to the eye, bedroom and bathroom fitted to the highest quality, comfort is guaranteed. Our gourmet supper was delicious; a breakfast tailored to our needs was interspersed with wide ranging conversation. We shall return!

Pat, Nottingham

Clare and Richard have a beautiful house for guests to stay in. They are extremely welcoming and helpful and we had a lovely meal there. The room for guests is spacious and looks out over the churchyard on the other side of the street. The standard of accommodation is first rate.
