Enid is one of those very special people who lifts your heart with her generosity of spirit, warmth and humour. Her passions are pictures, cooking and people, and you will be fed exceptionally well too – breakfasts are delicious and include local farm eggs. Choose any of the four large, lovely bedrooms and stay the week; they are awash with old paintings, silk fabrics and crisp linen. Wake refreshed and nip downstairs, past the log fire, to a laden and sociable table, head off afterwards to find 720 acres of organic farmland and a few million more of the Cheviots beyond. Wonderful hosts, a glorious region, a happy house.

An outstanding B&B. The owner Enid made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough for us, would not hesitate to go back there A perfect base for exploring Northumberland

This has to be the best Bed and Beeakfast I have ever stayed in nothing was too much trouble for Enid. The house is to die for with the most amazing furniture. We can't wait to return to this idyllic home..

Everything about the house was perfect, from the artfully chosen furnishings and comfortable beds to the delicious homecooking using fresh farm produce. What elevates Thistlehaugh from good to exceptional is the personality of Enid, one of those very special people who lifts your heart with their generosity of spirit and personal charm. She makes every guest feel completely at home, caters gracefully for every request, and radiates warmth and humour. A stay at Thistleyhaugh ought to be prescribed for every jaded, stressed and world-wear city dweller!

We had such a wonderful stay, our group of seven ranged from 23 to 87, we were beautifully looked after, the rooms were delightful and comfortable, our meals, breakfasts and evening meals were delicious. Our hosts were warm, welcoming, kind and friendly. I thoroughly recommend Thistlyhaugh.

Absolute gem of an overnight stop. Gorgeous bedroom, comfy bed with beautiful bed linen. Enid cooked us a very special dinner in elegant surroundings. Breakfast was just as delicious. We would thoroughly recommend a stop here.
