The
Experience

Down a farm track find two 1780 cottages knocked into one, with flagstone floors, a cheery wood-burner in the guest sitting room and welcoming Beverley and Branton. There’s a traditional country-cottage feel with pale walls, thick oak beams, soft carpeting and very comfortable bedrooms (the twin has an adjoining bedroom); views from all are across the Weald of Kent. Find a private spot in the lovely gardens, sip a sundowner on the terrace, relax in the garden room; hearty breakfasts in the family dining room include home-grown fruits, homemade marmalades and yogurts. Near to Sissinghurst, Great Dixter and many historic places.

what a find!! Most attentive hosts and very comfortable room and bathroom. The garden is a delight with many secret places to snooze! The guests sitting room looked super but we had no need to try it out as the weather was good. Excellent 5 stars!

John

A lovely, comfy cottage that is perfectly situated to visit many lovely gardens, places of interest and the sea. We were made to feel very welcome by Beverley and Branton Scruton and the breakfasts were delicious. A great place to stay.

A delightful place to stay. The house and the gardens are beautiful, so calm and peaceful; a real corner of old England. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are very comfortable and thoughtfully equipped and the breakfast first class. The surrounding area is charming with many historic houses and beautiful gardens. I would thoroughly recommend a stay in this wonderful old house.

A very warm welcome, beautiful garden for afternoon tea and a lovely breakfast. A relaxing and lovely night away.

This place is an oasis of calm, comfort, warm hospitality, amazing garden, great breakfast & wonderful hosts who know their surroundings. We stayed in the family room where we all enjoyed a great night's sleep. We were en route to the channel tunnel which was about one hour away and next time, we will stay longer in Lamberden cottage as there are plenty of great places to visit in its vicinity.

Linda, Grenoble

What a beautiful place. Very warm welcome, lovely double bedroom and so quiet. Very near many interesting places, we visited Rye, Sissinghurst and best of all Great Dixter. Excellent breakfast, full English and other choices. Marvellous garden. Would recommend and hope to visit again.

Peter, Colchester

A beautiful house and garden with all creature comforts and delicious breakfasts. Charming hosts. This is an ideal location for a peaceful break away from the madding crowd, or to use as a base for exploring Kent and Sussex.

Lamberden Cottage is to be highly recommended. From the welcome tea tray to our delicious breakfast everything was exceptional: warm hospitality from the owners; beautiful gardens to relax and wander in at leisure; a very comfortable, cosy, clean room; tranquillity and a delicious home-cooked breakfast with home-grown produce. Thank you!

Carol

Super. Great hosts. Atmospheric cottage. Cosy bedroom. Excellent breakfast gets the day going and an area of Kent rich in things to do and see. We'll be back. Mike and Brenda Barrie
