The
Experience
The 1750s farmhouse is rustic and family orientated, and if you don’t come expecting an immaculate environment you will enjoy it here. In the old bake house there’s a small sitting room with original beams and bread oven, TV and WiFi; relax in here on cooler days, with cats and a dog to keep you company. On sunny days tea is served in the garden. Bedrooms are pretty and comfy with oriental rugs and antique furniture. Nicholas – a tad eccentric for some – is half French and cooks amazing breakfasts on the Aga, while Ginny’s great grandfather (Arnold Hills) founded West Ham football team. Come and go as you please.

The neighbourhood
Local points of interest from Nicholas & Ginny Morris
- Within striking distance (20 minutes) are Chartwell, the home of Winston Churchill and Hever Castle.
- Penshurst Place with the oldest Baronial Hall in Europe and its stunningly beautiful gardens is a mere 5 minutes away.
- Slightly further afield are Ightham Mote, Marle Place, Pashley Manor, Batemans, Sissinghurst and Leeds Castle.
- There is a labyrinth of footpaths leading to welcoming pubs, most of which stock the famous Larkin's ale brewed locally in nearby Chiddingstone.
- A short drive or train journey takes you to the old spa town of Tunbridge Wells with its famous pantiles and diverse range of shops, galleries and cafes.
- The tiny Greyhound Pub at the end of the drive has recently been refurbished and serves excellent evening meals (closed for food on Sunday evenings and Mondays). Alternatively there is the Wheatsheaf Pub, a short drive away at Bough Beech.

We stayed for two days and had a really nice time. Nicholas and Ginny were very hospitable and friendly hosts. House is in a great peaceful location. Lovely bedroom. Nice guest sitting room. Make it time for afternoon tea when you first arrive as it was really good. Breakfast each day was great - try Nicholas' "special" as it was a treat. Nicholas gave great advice on where to eat in the evenings and kindly booked ahead for us. We recommend that you buy some of Ginny's home made jams to take home with you as they were lovely.
