The
Experience

A slice of (rather posh) rural bliss in between two pretty Cotswold villages. Bowl down a lengthy drive lined by curious sheep to find a gorgeous stone farmhouse where owners Francis and Georgie live; your converted barn adjoins them but politely faces the other way. Walk straight in through large glass doors to a cathedral like space with a flagstone floor, exposed walls, interesting art, a wood-burner in one corner, brown leather sofas for snuggling and a large glass dining table for convivial meals. A kitchen area has all the stuff you need for holiday cooking and those big doors can remain flung open on sunny days for children and grown ups to hare in and out. Bedrooms are on the mezzanine: sweet views, nice white cotton, a claw foot or slipper bath. Whoever has the single must go through one double to get to the bathroom so better for families or close friends. Good pubs abound if you’re feeling lazy about cooking or you can pay a visit to Daylesford Farm Shop to stock up on healthy ingredients. Walks are straight from the door, sublime gardens are near, curiously you can even go camel riding! Fun.

  • There are wonderful walks around our farm, including 80 acres of mature woodland and bridleways linking into footpaths to explore the local countryside and villages from.
  • We are just two miles from the famous market town of Stow-on-the-Wold with its historic square, fine old pubs, restaurants, galleries and interesting shops, and close to the villages of the Slaughters and Swells.
  • Bourton-on-the-Water where the River Windrush flows under five grassy banked stone bridges. Visit the Model Village, Birdland famous for its flamingos, pelicans, penguins, and over 50 aviaries of parrots, falcons, toucans and many more.
  • Pub and restaurant on the pretty green 1¼ miles away is The Fox in Broadwell. The Fox in Oddington too, and Carol Bamford’s renown Daylesford farm shop is close at hand.
  • Local events include: Longborough Opera, Cornbury Festival (summer only), the old fashioned Chipping Norton Theatre, Cheltenham Festival and Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon. Visit Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle, Broadway and its Magic Tower...
