The Experience

Set in a peaceful Cotswolds valley and surrounded by attractive gardens, John and Joanna’s manor house is immaculate. Your hosts have that happy knack of making you feel instantly at home. Find art and family photos, a wood-burner lit on cold nights in a comfy snug and a range of beauty treatments that you can book. Large sunny bedrooms come with garden and valley views, perfect linen on seriously cushy beds, antiques and lavish bathrooms.

Wake refreshed for breakfast in the dining room: home baked bread, eggs from the ducks and hens, homemade jams and jellies, a full English and coffee in a silver pot. Walk it off on The Windrush Way which passes the gate at the end of the drive and takes you through wooded valleys and open farmland. A short loop will take you to the pub at Naunton for a restorative pint.

Two good pubs are nearby for dinner – The Plough Inn at Cold Aston and The Hollow Bottom at Guiting Power, both two miles.

Reviews

Even better than advertised. Spacious rooms, beautifully furnished. Having had a large luncheon we picnicked dinner with two other guests on the manor lawn, enjoying the evening and surroundings. Jo and Johnny provided excellent advice as to visits, and we went by backroads (no tour buses) to beautiful small villages. Rooms are on the first and second floors - no lift, but the stairs were quite easily managed by the older members of our party, while Johnny managed our luggage.

Aylworth Manor is tucked in a bucolic Cotswold valley; it's wonderfully rural and peaceful, yet within easy reach of Cheltenham and some of the best villages and attractions of the Cotswolds. The rooms are spacious and homely and the welcome is warm.

Everything you could ask for in a classic country manor house with the warmest hosts imaginable - amazing walking and wildlife, and a breakfast that you can't wait to get up for! I've stayed twice and will be back again.

Kevin, Christchurch, New Zealand

I had the most delightful two night stay at Aylworth Manor. The house is stunning - charming interior, large and spacious bedrooms and beautiful position set amongst their garden and the Cotswolds hills. The breakfast was very delicious with the option of locally sourced and organic cooked breakfast and continental style freshly made croissants, cereal and yogurt. There was even the option of chicken or goose eggs! Both the hosts are extremely charming and helpful. All in all, I could not recommend this place more.

Alice, London

This is the total Cotswold rural ideal dream embodied! Spacious rooms, delightful hosts, gorgeous views and breakfast that makes getting up exciting! Leave the car and go walking from here and you can lose yourself in countryside that feels like a movie set.
