The
Experience

A cosy townhouse with heaps of charm. Step in to find chalky colours, toasty flagstones underfoot, painted floorboards topped with kilims, books, paintings, antiques and flowers. Airy bedrooms have views to garden and hills, there’s a wood-burner to read by in the sitting room and delicious, generous breakfasts are served around a large table in the kitchen. Juliet – or local friend Cath if she’s away – likes you to feel at home. Boho Bridport is lively: cinema, arts centre with a good café, bookshops and theatres galore, great places to eat and twice weekly markets; Lyme Regis and the wonderful Jurassic Coast are nearby.

Reviews

We spent a wonderful long weekend at No.27. The house and rooms were beautiful and Juliet was a fantastic host! Breakfast in the garden was perfect and all so delicious! The location is also great to allow you to explore Dorset and Bridport. We would highly recommend!!

This is definitely a Special Place. Stayed in the Japanese Room - very pleasant and comfortable in every way, and then a superb Full English Breakfast from Juliet (who loves cooking). She had also recommended an excellent restaurant three minutes walk away - The Olive Tree, with very good fish.

We have just come back from a wonderful stay at No. 27. Juliet is such a lovely, warm and caring host. She makes you feel so at home and is always on hand to offer you suggestions for beautiful walks or places of interest nearby (and her breakfasts are delicious, a real treat). The house is stunning, full of character but with a modern twist and beautiful new bathrooms. It has a calm and welcoming atmosphere, which provides the perfect place to unwind and truly relax. We really can not recommend staying at No 27 enough. A fantastic B&B.

We wholeheartedly agree with the above. Juliet's is a really lovely place to stay, comfortable beds, delicious breakfasts, fantastically well looked after but not fussily so! We so enjoyed staying at no 27. The art and efficiency of the house is blissful....

Our visit to No 27 Barrack Street in Bridport was delightful! The owner, Juliet, looks after you so well and is very welcoming. She has thought of all the little details that will make your stay comfortable, relaxing and cosy. She is also very knowledgeable about the town and where to go in the local area - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visit and would not hesitate to recommend this B and B. And the breakfasts are AMAZINGLY good! Homemade jams and compotes made from garden produce, fresh flowers on the table and the best eggs, salmon and kippers. We want to live here.

Silvana, Bath

Impeccable and chic, delicious breakfast and comfortable rooms. Juliet easy and welcoming. Long and colourful garden, bright and modern kitchen, and all mod cons. It is great to have a separate sitting room.

Alastair, Bristol

Our 2nd visit and this time we stayed for four nights - superb as ever. What you see on the website is what you get - characterful and elegant home, clean and beautifully kept. Spacious and comfortable bedroom and roomy, modern bathroom. Delicious breakfasts in the attractive terraced garden, very central location in a quiet side-road, and last but not least, a charming and hospitable hostess! The best hotel in Bridport, where we have previously stayed and which costs a lot more, cannot match the experience.

Stephen, Reigate, surrey

This really is a very special place; not only for the house, the hostess, the most delicious & generous breakfast the enchanting and luxuous bedroom, but Bridport itself with the saturday market, the bookshops, cafés & restaurants. We just loved wandering round, and then going off for a magical coastal walk with views to die for. A perfect place for a long weekend escape. We'll be back!

No 27 is a brilliant b&b. We were in the Shaker room. This meant we had the top floor to ourselves as our bathroom/wet room is the only other room on this floor. It's beautifully decorated with lovely views over the rooftops to the Dorset hills. The bed is king-size and very comfortable. The bathroom is large with a huge bath and a separate lovely shower. Juliet is a friendly welcoming landlady, on arrival she gave us a delicious cream tea and made us feel at home. The breakfasts were wonderful beautifully cooked and with lots of choice. We recommend No 27 as a really lovely place to stay.

Juliet, Newton abbot

what a lovely place to stay, the house, room and breakfast are delightful. Juliet makes the stay - no matter how short - a treat. Our stay was all too short.
