Winnow Barns is a well equipped, comfortable and spacious cottage in stunning countryside. Andrea the host was very helpful. The location is great and there are fabulous walks from the door. This was our second visit and we’ve just booked a third!

Absolutely lovely property, perfect in every way clean, stylish and well-equiped. The owners were charming and helpful, too.

It was charming, extremely inviting accommodation. There were 6 of us and we had a lovely stress free stay. Comfortable and delightful, with wonderful walks surrounding us. All due to the well organised set up that is Winnow Barns.

Thank you for the stay at Winnow Stables, it was absolutely perfect! The bedrooms and living space were gorgeous (we went home saying we wanted to buy it!!) Outstanding property! Perfect location (near everything but so secluded) Gorgeous furnishings, well stocked kitchen, strong Wifi (& lots of TV choices for the channel surfers amongst you) cozy beds & plenty of hot water! The hostess, Andrea, was very responsive before the stay & helped w/ suggestions including a local chef who delivered some very tasty casseroles & lots of breakfast groceries. She greeted us upon arrival and was there to iron out a couple of small hiccups along the way (American misunderstandings of the appliances, no fault of the property) Who could ask for anything more?

We've just had 8 family members staying in this wonderful cottage. The cottage is simply superb - very clean, uncluttered with everything you need for a perfect holiday. The surrounding countryside is fabulous and great walks right from the door. We will definitely recommend to friends and hope to return ourselves. Thank you so much Andrea, John and family.

A well equipped base in a beautiful corner of the Peak District. Wonderfully comfortable beds, the best we’ve encountered in many years of self catering.

This is a lovely well appointed property with 4 good sized en-suite bedrooms. The living accommodation is on the first floor so as to maximise the views across surrounding fields. Good walking from the front door. Ideal for a family get together.

We had a lovely stay at Winnow Barn - fantastic accommodation. Upstairs was a lovely communal space and great to have the log burner. Great location - so much to do in the immediate area.

Wonderful accommodation set in a beautiful and peaceful countryside location. Fantastic walks on the doorstep. Excellent craft beer from Dovedale Brewery which is also owned by Andrea & John. Efficient and helpful owners. Highly recommended!

Winnow Barns is a wonderful place to spend a weekend with the family. The barn is comfortable, clean and very cosy. The location is excellent for walks in the Peak District . I would recommend Winnow Barns to anyone who wants to spend a nice holiday in the area. Andrea, the owner, is very helpful and makes sure your stay is great.

Winnow barn is located in beautiful countryside and we walked from there to Milldale and Dovedale. The bedrooms are comfortable and the huge upstairs space perfect with wood burner and well equipped kitchen.

Winnow Barn was the perfect location to celebrate my husband’s birthday, with three adult children. Room and more for everyone to have their own space, but also to be together to socialise - the upstairs open-plan layout being a perfect entertainment space. Clean and with everything we needed, including a bottle of fizz waiting for us in the fridge. Fabulous walks from the door and so peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

We had such a lovely visit at Winnow Barn, particularly after months of lockdown. The barn is beautifully decorated with lots of space and we each had our own bathrooms and a big kitchen to cook in. We ordered a welcome basket with lots of lovely breakfast bits and Andrea had left us a chocs and fizz which was much appreciated! We couldn't have been better placed for walking straight from the door into Dovedale and the Ilam valley. The family-owned Dovedale Brewery is on site, we had award winning bottle conditioned ales delivered to our door when we got back from a days walking!

We had a totally relaxing break at Winnow Barn, it's in a beautiful spot with some great walks on the doorstep. The barn is well equipped and it took us no time at all to settle in and feel at home, the kitchen has everything you need to cater for yourself but there's also some great eateries a short drive away. Finally, can't write a review at the moment without confirming that all the necessary steps had been taken to ensure the barn was Covid safe and we certainly had no concerns on that front.

A great place to relax and unwind with a log burner and a bottle of red! On top of that they brew their own beer too which is really good... Stayed for a long weekend with the family and had an amazing time. Barn is a high finish yet continues to feel authentic and homely. Facilities are a very high standard and surroundings are beautiful. Will absolutely be going back in the summer again. Highly recommended

We had a wonderful stay at Winnow Barn over a long weekend, we are a group of 6 friends and found the layout fantastic - each bedroom was comfortable and cosy with it's own on suite, and upstairs has the lovely log burner and we made great use of the kitchen and dining area to cook up big breakfasts and dinners. It's a great spot to do some lovely walks - we walked from Dovedale (what stunning scenery!) to the George at Alstonefield (perfect country pub). Hope to be back sometime soon.
