The
Experience

Each of these recently renovated barns – sweet one-storey boltholes surrounded by peace and seclusion – is luxurious in an understated way. Fresh, gleaming and new, with a roll top bath, gorgeous soaps and a Bose iPod dock.

Outside is a covered storage area for bikes, surf boards and wet suits; inside is a super roomy kitchen and a wood-burner stocked with logs. Start the day in a bathroom warmed by heated floors; while away an afternoon on a steamer chair in your own little outside space; enjoy a round of golf on the lovely Killiow course.

Generous Frances leaves Cornish goodies for your arrival, homemade cakes or scones, fresh flowers, even the Sunday papers. She’ll recommend restaurants and activities, and arrange spa treatments to come to you.

Reviews

We have stayed at Bolotho Barns three times this year and have enjoyed an idyllic break on each occasion. The accommodation is spacious and faultless, with everything done to a high standard. The owner is on hand to answer any questions and the location, while rural and extremely peaceful, is convenient for both the North and South coasts. We stay at many self-catering cottages and this is one of the best.

Introducing

Frances Grant

Frances and Steve Grant converted the local stone and slate tiled barns from 19th-century stables and farm buildings in 2010. They were fascinated by the history of Bolotho Farm which is part of the Killiow estate and dates back to the 6th century, and loved the tranquil spot – and the local deer that wander the estate. Passionate about the area they are big advocates of Cornish produce and keen to give you tips on good pubs, restaurants and stuff to do.
