The
Experience

Slap bang in the heart of beachy St Ives you’ll find two old properties with newly-renovated interiors. Moon Shadow is in a thriving arty area on the coast road and you can stroll to Porthmeor beach in a minute.

Nearby Black Moon sits right on Bamaluz beach. Fling open the French doors and gaze out to sea, mirrors make the space feel bigger and the living room has a fun glass floor – you can even go through the trap-door to a romantic cave and watch the waves crash in.

Whichever you choose you’re in a great spot for surfing, swimming and paddle boarding, hiking the demanding coastal path in either direction, evenings in arty bars and afternoons wandering the streets and galleries of St Ives.

Location

The neighbourhood

Moon Shadow is moments away from Porthmeor Beach on the northern side of St Ives, an area known for its thriving artist community and Black Moon sits on nearby Bamaluz beach. Both are within strolling distance of other beaches, dozens of restaurants, art galleries (including the Tate), St Ives harbour and craft shops – try the cocktails at Alba and the beetroot gnocchi at The Black Rock.

Local points of interest from Beachspoke .

  • St Ives is one of England's most magical destinations. With the area's breathtaking sunlight and sandy beaches, you'll feel as though you've been transported to the tropics. There is something undeniably special about this part of England.
  • Cornwall is replete with excellent local produce and there are plenty of places that transform it into unforgettable food. In addition to the obligatory Cornish pastie and fish 'n' chips, we highly recommend supper at The Porthminster Kitchen.
  • Art lovers will relish the area's history of producing prominent painters and sculptors. Peruse their finest works at the brilliant Tate St Ives and an afternoon at the Barbara Hepworth Museum is a must.
  • Activity lovers can make the most of the area's coastal walks and hikes. There's no shortage of surfing lessons, watersports or boat trips for those who want to get out onto the water.
  • We work with local therapist who delivers her treatments in our Beachspoke properties allowing you to fully unwind in the comfort of the cottage.
  • For a town of its size St Ives is blessed with an inordinate amount of beaches. There are four main beaches within walking distance of the town, each with a different character. Don't forget your camera.
