We had a wonderful stay at Monk's Walk. We were greeted with freshly made lemonade and cake which we ate in the beautiful garden, and the house and room itself are lovely and full of thoughtful extra touches that make you feel very well looked after. The breakfast was also fantastic and Marion catered very well for my vegetarian needs! The location is also great for some nice walks along the river. I would highly recommend to others looking for a cosy getaway in the English countryside.

If you arrive at Heathrow Airport at midnight after a long haul flight what would be your dearest wish of a B and B? A warm room, hot shower and comfortable bed? Of course. How would you feel if your hostess was so thoughtful she had set out a plate of egg sandwiches and a flask of the most delicious mushroom soup to welcome you at that late hour? This is what greeted us as we staggered into the guest cottage at Monks' Walk. We were enchanted and mightily grateful. And then, next morning a wonderful breakfast in the Clarks' attractive dining room, served with care by Marion. Perfection

Traditional old world hospitality . I tasted one of Marion's scones-perfection-what a baker!I bet her cakes are scrummy. Breakfast superb. Charming but small bedroom with nice little touches which opens directly onto the delightful garden.Good sized ,clean, and efficient shower room with wc and wash hand basin all for sole use of guests ,2 steps along the passage which leads to the main house. We are so glad we chose here rather than a soulless airport hotel before flying from Heathrow which even at 8.45 am took only 35 minutes to reach by taxi. Marion said that it normally takes 20 minutes.
