Reviews

Enjoyed a wonderful stay in the studio at Reeves Barn. Barbette has a real eye for detail, everything is beautifully thought through with handmade biscuits on the tea tray, the fire ready to light, underfloor heating in the bathroom. The studio has a the feel of an artist's retreat, but with comfort in mind! The breakfast hamper was huge and delicious and Barbette was super helpful and lovely. There is lots to do in the area, we enjoyed visiting Frome with it's independent shop and cafes. We could have happily stayed for a week and we are already planning our next visit!

Idyllic! We loved our night in Reeves Barn and wished we could stay longer. Beautiful rooms, huge selection of books, beautiful paintings, log fire, candles, sensational breakfast. Everything done with real love and care. A very special place. Hope to return one day and stay longer.

Wonderful nights stay at this beautiful location. Barbette was very welcoming and extremely helpful, with a recommendation of a fantastic fish and chip farm shop (5 mins away - great also for little ones to play). Plus the added luxury of a exquisite breakfast hamper in the morning. The studio is where we stayed with two children and the decor is very charming. I cannot recommended this accommodation highly enough. Would definitely go back (soon hopefully!)

We just had a wonderful stay in the shepherds hut! It's designed beautifully and the bed is extremely comfortable. Everything has been so carefully thought of and the breakfast hamper was absolutely amazing. Me and my husband loved every minute of our stay and can't wait to come back.

Superb! Gorgeous barn, very clean and fantastic breakfast basket (and treats for your arrival). Very romantic and cosy with the log burner. Barbette is so welcoming and kind. An absolute gem!

A quirky place with lots of space and great to stay more than one night. The food both breakfast and dinner were delicious and very good home cooking. This is handily situated for Longleat and the surrounding area.

This is a very special place. We stayed one night in the shepherd's hut, an old fashioned wooden caravan, which has been transformed into the most perfect accommodation on a tiny scale. Every possible detail has been thought of including a miniature wood burning stove and the decorations, including a hand painted freeze, look like something from a Swedish Carl Larsson interior. The courtyard is charming, the breakfast delicious and the countryside surrounding the house beautiful.

We had a wonderful stay. Barbette is a painter and her artistry was evident everywhere, from the dressing of the generous breakfast table to the planting of the courtyard upon which our room gave. We were six guests and unexpectedly joined by a seventh, which news Barbette absorbed with no difficulty at all. Ours is an unqualified recommendation if you are seeking a hospitable pretty and quiet get away. Thank you very much. Jonathan and Fiona.

Barbette's studio is a perfect setting and is beautifully designed and very comfortable. Barbette is a great host ensuring we were looked after. She even showed me how to light a fire! Her cooking is delicious. I'm already looking forward to another stay in a few weeks time :)

From the moment of arrival when we found Barbette had lit the wood-burner to the gorgeous handmade continental breakfast basket we knew we had struck gold with Reeves Barn. The studio was a complete delight mixing vintage furniture with very clever use of modernity. Strong recommendation for those wanting relaxation in style.

We had a wonderful stay in the studio with our four month-old. Beautiful setting, gorgeous accommodation and incredibly warm welcome. Barbette had some great recommendations for local places to eat and visit. The studio is very cosy and it was great to have a separate room for the baby. Delicious breakfast hamper brought over to us! A lovely stay in this idyllic country retreat...highly recommended!

Camilla

A wonderful place for a relaxing weekend getaway. Barbette prepared a delicious meal for our arrival on Friday evening, and at night we read and watched films in front of the wood-burning stove while listening to the rain patter on the barn roof. Breakfast was fresh fruit juice and pastries warm from the oven. As a couple with a seven-month-old little 'un we found it ideal, and hope to come back as soon as possible!

We had an amazingly relaxing stay at Reeves Barn - Barbette is the most easy-going hostess, seeming effortlessly to run the perfect B and B, although this hardly seems an adequate description. The 3-course dinner was stunningly delicious - so lovely not to be faced with an enormous menu, but instead to put your faith in the cook's choice - and our only regrets were that Barbette couldn't join us for the meal to chat for longer, and that we couldn't help with the washing-up! Although we normally like to try new places to stay, we'd love to return soon.

Absolutely stunning. Lovely quiet location, close to local attractions. I was there with my young family and husband to go to Longleat just a few minutes away. Accommodation is truly lovely and even better than the pictures. Barbette went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, with a bed for my toddler and a cot for the baby, perfect accommodation for young families or for romantic breaks as its only slightly more expensive but with a massive gain of having your own space in the barn. The breakfasts are extremely tasty . Every need is catered for and would highly recommend.

An exquisite setting and a gorgeous house, restored with great imagination and immaculate taste. Your host is friendly but you get all the privacy you want. Though there's lots at Reeves Barn which is resolutely English, there's also something of the Tuscan courtyard villa about it. It's worth spending the extra for the studio... there's a comfortable sitting room adjoining the large bedroom, with a wood-burning stove and a kitchenette. And make sure you get a chance to sample her cooking too, even if it's just at breakfast. One of my all-time favourite, and most romantic b+b experiences ever.

We had a wonderful stay at Reeves Barn. A fantastic location for exploring Longleat and its surrounding areas. Our host Babette was extremely welcoming. She provided us with lovely breakfasts and superb suppers, not to mention the treats upon our arrival. The barn itself is immaculate, spacious and bright; perfect for small families. My wife and I fell in love with the place and our 2 year old daughter had and fascinating time watching the nearby cows! Would definitely recommend, we will hopefully return one day.

J

Candles flickering, table laid and wood-burning stove gently pushing out a welcome only exceeded in its warmth by our charming hostess. For our first evening we enjoyed Barbette's culinary skills – felt like we had a 'private chef' for the evening - a delightful 3 course meal, preceded by tasty Canapés and a bottle of Prosecco. Reeves Barn didn't really feel like B&B - more akin to a relaxing, tastefully appointed suite with an attentive hostess who discreetly deposits a delicious breakfast hamper and leaves you to savour the art, literature and atmosphere...3 nights just wasn't enough!

David

From the second we walked through the door we knew we had pick the right place and things only got better. The barn was decorated beautifully and I instantly felt at home with all the personal touches, the food Barbette cooked for us on the Friday evening restaurant quality but with the relaxed atmosphere of eating at home without the washing up. The following day we were pointed in the direction of some fantastic local restaurants and country houses. The fact that it rained all weekend did not make any difference, we had such fun! Thanks.

Henry

We loved our two night stay at the beautiful Reeves barn. It was light, airy and spacious. We especially loved the details like the lovely white linen and the Cowshed products. Barbette was wonderfully accommodating and cooked a delicious 3 course dinner that we enjoyed in the comfort of the barn. The breakfast hamper being left by our door each morning was a real treat and we even arrived back one evening to find the wood burner on, the candle lit, a bottle of prosecco and some delicious canapés! A really memorable stay - we've already recommended it to our friends!

Really beautiful place, very relaxing and nice to get out of London. Loved the prosecco and canapes on arrival and the breakfast hamper in the morning was perfect! Would definitely stay here again.
